Rama’s Trail (M05)

After landing, please clear immigration and complete any visa formalities. Once you’ve collected your baggage, proceed to the arrival lounge through the green channel if you have no goods to declare to customs.

You will be greeted by a chauffeur guide from SL Trips who will call your name. After that, you will start your journey with the guide according to your itinerary.

• Manavari Temple: A key Hindu site near Chilaw, where Lord Rama is believed to have installed a Shiva Lingam.

Early morning departure from your hotel as your guide transfers you to Nanu Oya railway station to catch the 6:00 AM train. Enjoy your breakfast aboard while travelling through one of Sri Lanka’s most scenic rail journeys, where the track winds through misty mountains, lush tea plantations, and dramatic valleys offering breathtaking panoramic views of the central highlands. The journey is particularly memorable as the train descends from the hill country to the lowlands, passing through dense forests and traditional villages before reaching Rambukkana station, where your guide will be waiting to escort you to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.
