After landing, please clear immigration and complete any visa formalities. Once you’ve collected your baggage, proceed to the arrival lounge through the green channel if you have no goods to declare to customs.

You will be greeted by a chauffeur guide from SL Trips who will call your name. After that, you to start your journey with the guide as per your itinerary.

Places to be visited during the day

  1. Visit to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage– where you’ll experience the joy of watching elephants in their natural habitat. Marvel as these magnificent creatures splash during their river bathing time, and share in the excitement of feeding sessions, creating wonderful memories for visitors of all ages as they connect with these gentle giants.
  2. The Hiriwadunna village tour offers a three-hour adventure into rural Sri Lankan life. The bullock cart ridejourney across the lake in a traditional hand-paddled canoe, and gentle village walk reveal the enchanting countryside at a relaxed pace. Meet friendly locals who warmly welcome visitors young and old, while discovering traditions passed down through generations. Explore lush paddy fields, enjoy interactive cooking demonstrations, and taste authentic local cuisine. The tour concludes with an exhilarating tuk-tuk ride that never fails to bring smiles to everyone’s faces.

Stay at Habarana

In the early morning (6:30 am), experience the wonder of Minneriya National Park – home to the spectacular “Great Elephant Gathering” where families of wild Asian elephants come together around the ancient Minneriya Tank. Watch children’s eyes light up as these gentle giants graze, splash, and interact with their young in a natural setting. The safari adventure might also reveal other exciting wildlife like deer, colourful birds, and if you’re lucky, elusive leopards. This magical morning safari creates perfect opportunities for memorable photos and instils appreciation for wildlife conservation in visitors of all ages.

After returning to the hotel and freshening up, continue your journey to Trincomalee, where adventures await:

  2. Thiru Koneshvaram Temple – Discover this magnificent Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, where colourful architecture and intricate details fascinate visitors of all backgrounds. The coastal views provide a peaceful setting for cultural learning.
  3. Trincomalee Beach – Enjoy quality time at this golden sandy beach, where the gentle waves and shallow waters create a safe playground. The crystal-clear bay is perfect for introducing little ones to snorkelling in calm waters.
  4. Uppuveli Beach – End your day at this pristine stretch of coastline where soft sands invite sandcastle building and the warm, shallow waters welcome swimmers of all confidence levels.

Lunch can be enjoyed during the journey with plenty of options to please diverse palates.

In the evening, after enjoying the beach, you will head to Habarana for an overnight stay at the same hotel

After the breakfast, you will head to Kandy

Places to visit during the day:

  1. Sigiriya Rock (Photo Stop Only) – Marvel at this majestic UNESCO World Heritage Site where ancient history towers above the landscape. Even from ground level, the impressive fortress creates perfect family photo opportunities that capture the wonder in everyone’s eyes.
  2. Spice Garden in Matale – Embark on a sensory adventure through fragrant pathways where children can touch, smell, and even taste exotic spices. The interactive demonstrations of traditional remedies fascinate visitors of all ages, with friendly guides who make learning fun.
  3. Peradeniya Botanical Garden – a 147-acre oasis near Kandy. Discover 4,000+ plant species, including orchids and spices, stroll Royal Palm Avenue, and marvel at giant bamboo. Enjoy the garden’s peaceful beauty and river views. We recommend hiring an electric go-kart for the visit, and it will save your time.
  4. In Kandy:
  1. Kandy batik shops – Watch colourful fabrics come to life through the magical wax-resist process, where artistic traditions are passed down through generations.
  2. Wood carving shops – Witness skilled artisans transform simple wood into intricate treasures.
  3. Gem arcade and museum – Discover Sri Lanka’s glittering treasures in a dazzling display that feels like a real-life treasure hunt.
  1. The highlight of your evening will be the spectacular Kandyan cultural show, which is a vibrant and exciting experience for the whole family! You’ll be amazed by the colourful costumes, energetic drumming, and acrobatic dances. See performers showcase traditional Sri Lankan dances, including the impressive fire-walking act. With music, storytelling, and lots of action, it’s a fantastic way to immerse yourself in Sri Lanka’s rich culture.

Overnight stay in Kandy

After breakfast, you will be dropped off at the Kandy train station to board a reserved air-conditioned train to Nanu Oya. Your tour driver will meet you at the Nanu Oya railway station.

The train journey from Kandy to Nanu Oya is a captivating passage through Sri Lanka’s stunning hill country. As the train ascends, you’ll be treated to breathtaking panoramas of emerald tea estates stretching across rolling hills, cascading waterfalls plunging into verdant valleys, and mist-kissed mountains painting a picturesque backdrop. This scenic route offers a comfortable and immersive way to experience the natural beauty and charm of the highlands, connecting the cultural heart of Kandy with the gateway to the cooler climes and tea plantations around Nuwara Eliya.

Then you will head to Nuwara Eliya (called little England) and places to be visited during the day.

  1. Pedro Tea Factory: A captivating visit amidst Nuwara Eliya’s tea hills. Witness the journey from fresh leaves to fragrant tea through traditional processes. Learn about tea varieties and conclude with a flavorful tasting amidst scenic beauty.
  2. Nuwara Eliya Victoria Park: A charming park in the heart of Nuwara Eliya, perfect for kids to run around and play, with beautiful flowers and open spaces for families to enjoy.
  3. Visit Gregory Lake in the evening for a relaxing experience where you can enjoy boating, pony rides, and scenic strolls amidst the tranquil surroundings of Nuwara Eliya.

Stay at Nuwara Eliya

DAY 05 – NUWARA ELIYA –> AMBEWELA

After breakfast, relax and get ready to explore the beautiful hill country of Nuwara Eliya. We will visit places that are fun for the whole family.

  1. Ambewela Farm (Little New Zealand): A picturesque dairy farm known for its lush green pastures and European-style landscape. It’s a great place for kids to see cows and other farm animals, learn about dairy farming, and enjoy scenic views. The little ones will love seeing the animals and the wide-open spaces!
  2. Ramya Horticulture Strawberry Farm: A large farm where visitors can pick strawberries and explore other crops. They also offer tours to see how the strawberries and vegetables are grown. Please note that if you are travelling in summer, there is a low possibility of strawberry picking being available.
  3. Bomburu Ella (Optional): The widest waterfall in Sri Lanka, located about 19 km from Nuwara Eliya. To reach the waterfall, you need to walk approximately 2 km from the starting point of the hike. It’s a beautiful spot for nature lovers and photographers
  4. Seetha Amman Temple: This temple has a deep connection to the Ramayana epic. According to the legend, this temple marks the site where Sita, the consort of Lord Rama, was held captive by King Ravana of Lanka. The temple symbolises her devotion and purity.

In the evening, enjoy the family-friendly activities at Gregory Lake, such as boating and pony rides. You can also visit the nearby Nuwara Eliya Race Course to enjoy the lively atmosphere

Return to the same hotel

After a hearty breakfast, embark on a scenic 5-hour journey (170 KM) to Colombo via Kitulgala. Along the way, stop at the famous Kitulgala rapids where adventurous families can watch white-water rafting from safe viewing points—the very location where “The Bridge on the River Kwai” was filmed! Children will be fascinated by the rushing waters and jungle surroundings. Enjoy a relaxing lunch at a riverside restaurant offering panoramic views and kid-friendly menu options.

Upon arrival and check-in at your Colombo hotel, set out to explore Sri Lanka’s vibrant capital:

  1. Gangaramaya Temple – Discover this unique Buddhist temple with its eclectic architecture and fascinating museum of treasures that spark curiosity in visitors of all ages.
  2. Galle Face Green – Stroll along this oceanfront promenade where families gather to fly colourful kites, enjoy street food, and watch the spectacular sunset. Children can run freely in this open space while parents relax with the sea breeze.
  3. Independence Square – Explore the beautiful gardens surrounding this historic monument, where kids can spot squirrels and butterflies while learning about Sri Lanka’s journey to independence.
  4. Viharamahadevi Park – Visit Colombo’s largest public park, complete with a children’s playground, mini-train ride, and lovely walking paths perfect for burning off excess energy.
  5. National Museum – Wander through fascinating exhibits showcasing Sri Lanka’s natural and cultural heritage with displays that engage young minds (Depending on the time available, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM)

As evening falls, experience the magic of Colombo by night with its illuminated landmarks and bustling markets. Visit Pettah Market or Odel shopping mall, where you can find special souvenirs to remember your Sri Lankan adventure.

Overnight Stay at Colombo

After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a leisurely morning in Colombo. With your evening flight providing extra time to explore, take this perfect opportunity for some final memorable experiences:

Begin with a visit to the stunning Colombo Port City, Sri Lanka’s newest urban development extending into the Indian Ocean. Families can stroll along the modern promenade, marvel at the impressive architecture, and enjoy the sea breeze while watching ships enter and leave the harbour—a fascinating sight for curious young minds.

Next, indulge in some last-minute shopping at Laksala (government handicrafts emporium) or Paradise Road, where you’ll find high-quality souvenirs, colourful masks, handcrafted toys, and soft cotton clothing—perfect mementoes of your Sri Lankan adventure.

As your wonderful journey comes to an end, your driver will ensure a timely arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport (approximately 1 hour from Colombo city), where you’ll have plenty of time to check in for your evening flight, bringing home a suitcase full of souvenirs and hearts full of memories.

Booking Information
Once you submit your booking details, we will proceed with the booking process. At this stage, a 20% payment is required. A booking confirmation will be sent to you within 48 hours of receiving your payment. The remaining 80% balance must be paid at least 30 days before the tour start date. Once this is completed, you can proceed with your visa application.

Cancellation Policy
All travel offers displayed on our website are provided at discounted rates. Therefore, all bookings are final, non-refundable, and cannot be combined with any other promotions. Refunds will not be provided for cancellations made within 30 days of the tour start date or for no-shows.
